The Power of Participation

Here are eight important ways for you to network with and learn from your fellow REALTORS®, participate in the Marin Association of REALTORS®, and put your expertise to work for Marin’s real estate community. Sign up today to be considered for the following committees and discover for yourself the power of participation. Space is limited so sign up today. Membership/Marketing
Generates ideas and activities to promote the importance of working with REALTORS®, attract new members, and publicize the work and accomplishments of MAR. Committee projects have included a technology summit, and the REALTOR® logo contest. This is the place to be if you enjoy writing, marketing, and opportunities to be creative!

Governmental Affairs
Advises MAR about positions to take on a wide range of local issues and proposed legislation that impact REALTORS®. This panel has been involved in many important issues, including repeal of a point-of-sale toilet retrofit ordinance, advocacy of building permit amnesty programs, and workforce housing. This
committee is ideal for REALTORS® who like politics, public affairs and lobbying!

Education
Supervises MAR University, which provides and promotes a variety of seminars and workshops to help boost the effectiveness and marketing skills of REALTORS®.

* Ethics & Dispute Resolution
This committee provides mediation and grievance resolution services to MAR members. Panel members must complete a professional standards training course.

Community Service
Helps MAR find ways for members to give back to the community through a variety of worthwhile projects and activities. For example, the committee organized a Day at the Races to support the new Hospice of Marin building, and donated awards for the Fair Housing of Marin Poster Contest.

* Budget and Finance
Oversees the association’s annual budget and recommends how MAR’s funds should be invested. If you like number- crunching, you’ll like this committee!

Technology
Follows news and developments related to the Multiple Listing Service, which is now operated by Bay Area Real Estate Information Services (BAREIS), and how REALTORS® can use technology to succeed in real estate.
