Ethics/Dispute Resolution
MAR conducts an ombudsman program to help informally resolve disputes.
These disputes involve alleged violations of the REALTOR® code of ethics or other issues the public may have when working with the organization's members to buy or sell a home.
This free program for members is conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures of the National Association of REALTORS®.
The MAR ombudsman will help address disputes and problems and attempt to solve them informally to avoid the need for litigation. If the ombudsman is unable to resolve a dispute, it could be referred to the association's professional standards or arbitration committees.
MAR has named Karen Kirwan to serve as its ombudsman and administer the association's dispute resolution program. For more information, Kirwan can be reached at 415-507-1006.
